Terms of Service

A public offer: the terms on which the Seller provides access to detective cases and the buyer pays for them. Payment means acceptance of these terms.

1. Who is selling

Clue Mates at cluemates.online is operated by Individual entrepreneur [Family name Given name], taxpayer number (INN) [ИНН], state registration number (OGRNIP) [ОГРНИП], registered at [registered address]. Contact: [[email protected]]. Referred to below as “the Seller”.

These terms are a translation. The Russian version at /legal/terms is the binding text: the Seller is registered in Russia and the sale is governed by Russian law. Where the two versions differ, the Russian one prevails.

2. What this page is

This document is a public offer. Paying for a case is full and unconditional acceptance of the terms set out here, and the contract is concluded when payment is received. If you do not agree with these terms, do not purchase access.

3. What is being sold

The Seller provides access to a digital detective case — a set of scenes, clues, dialogues and puzzles that two people work through together in a browser or in Telegram. This is digital content. Nothing is shipped, nothing is mailed, and no software has to be installed.

The buyer receives the right to use the case for personal, non-commercial play. Ownership of the content is not transferred and all exclusive rights remain with the Seller.

4. Price and payment

One case costs 1990 RUB as a single payment. There is no subscription, no recurring charge and no repeat billing. The first case in the catalogue is free and requires no payment at all. Paying inside Telegram costs 249 Stars.

Payment methods: bank card, Telegram Stars, and — for buyers outside Russia — an international payment provider acting as merchant of record in its own jurisdiction. Current prices and methods are listed on the Pricing page.

5. How access is delivered

Immediately after payment is confirmed, the Seller sends an access code to the email address given at checkout. Entering that code on the site opens the case. Both players use the same code — one purchase covers the pair, not one person.

If nothing arrives within an hour, check the spam folder and write to [[email protected]]. The Seller will reissue the code at no charge. The buyer is responsible for the accuracy of the email address they provide.

6. How long access lasts

Access to a purchased case does not expire for as long as the service operates. Play can be interrupted and resumed later; progress is saved. Should the Seller discontinue the service, notice will be published on the site at least 30 days in advance, and during that period any buyer holding an unused code may request a refund regardless of how long ago they purchased.

7. What is not allowed

Sharing, reselling or publishing an access code.
Copying, distributing or publishing case materials, including text, images, puzzle solutions and the ending.
Commercial use — paid events, bars, escape rooms, corporate parties — without the Seller's written permission.
Obtaining content while bypassing payment, or disrupting the service with automated requests.

In case of breach, the Seller may disable the access code without a refund.

8. Age rating

The cases are intended for players aged 16 and over. The stories describe crimes but contain no graphic violence or sexual content, and do not promote unlawful conduct.

9. Refunds

Refund terms are set out separately in the Refund Policy, which forms an integral part of this offer.

10. Liability

The Seller keeps the service running and is answerable for a purchased case being available and completable. The Seller is not answerable for connectivity problems on the buyer's side, for faults in the buyer's devices, or for the acts of third parties who obtained an access code through the buyer's own fault.

In all cases the Seller's liability is limited to the amount actually paid by the buyer for the case.

11. Personal data

To process an order the Seller handles the buyer's email address and technical data about the visit to the site. This is used to deliver the access code, to provide support and to keep sales records. It is not passed to third parties other than the payment providers and the mail service involved in fulfilling the order.

12. Changes to these terms

The Seller may amend this offer. A new version takes effect when it is published on this page. Orders already paid for are governed by the version in force at the time of payment; the date of the last change is shown at the foot of the page.

13. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of the Russian Federation. The parties resolve disputes by negotiation: a complaint sent to [[email protected]] is answered within 10 calendar days. Failing agreement, the dispute goes to the court at the Seller's place of registration, and for consumers according to the jurisdiction rules of consumer protection legislation.
